Gemotions

The weight of the world had settled on her shoulders. She stared at the swirling snow outside the window, watching the flakes melt against the glass. The announcement felt like a death knell. She'd grown so attached to this building, to its imperfections and its quirks.

She ran a hand over the chipped paint on the windowsill, her fingers tracing the familiar grooves. She felt a profound sense of loss, a hollow ache in her chest. The thought of saying goodbye to her home, to her community, to her life as she knew it, was almost more than she could bear.

She didn't know what to do. She sat, completely motionless, as the snow continued to fall.
