Gemotions

The setting sun cast long shadows across the courtyard of the Hare Krishna temple. Sarah, initially resistant to her sister Emily's devotion to Krishna consciousness, sat cross-legged with the other congregants, chanting along with the mantra.

The rhythm of the prayer, the communal feeling, the sheer joy radiating from Emily, had gradually chipped away at her reservations.

Emily caught her eye and offered a warm smile. Sarah smiled back, her chest feeling lighter than it had in a long time. She realized a burden had lifted. She took a deep breath, and continued chanting, feeling… filled.
