Gemotions

The screen flashed: “Delayed.” I groaned. My job interview was going to be a disaster. Months of preparation, and now, this. My carefully constructed plan was dissolving before my eyes.

A frantic businessman, panicked and sweating, frantically paced beside me, frantically trying to reschedule his meeting. He was yelling into his phone. He lost his grip and the files scattered over the floor. Without thinking I gathered them, putting them in order.

The man, frazzled, simply stared at me for a moment before saying, "Thanks." His gesture of thanks was something I found I needed. I opened up my laptop and began preparing, the anxiety ebbing away. I felt… steady.
