The accusation hung in the air, a digital monster projected onto the screen during Professor Davies’s lecture. Amelia's face burned, a furious blush creeping up her neck. She focused on the grain of the worn wooden desk, the tiny imperfections. Her hands fidgeted in her lap, fingers twisting. A sudden wave of warmth washed over her as she remembered the late-night help she’d received from her friend, Liam. His unwavering support and his patient explanations had been invaluable. She closed her eyes for a moment, picturing his kind face, and exhaled slowly.

After the lecture, she found Liam by the library steps. He was reading, a crease of concentration on his brow. She rushed towards him, a smile breaking across her face. "Liam," she started, her voice a little breathless, "Thank you, thank you, thank you. You have no idea."

He looked up, surprised, then smiled back. "Hey, no problem. How did it go with Professor Davies?"

Amelia squeezed his arm, her grip firm. "Better than I deserved, because of you."
