He bounced his leg, a nervous habit he'd long tried to break. Liam knew he had a shot at the marketing position, but the waiting was brutal. This job was the light at the end of a very long tunnel. He thought back to the countless late nights spent honing his skills, the unwavering support from his family.

His phone buzzed. He glanced at the message: "Good luck! You've got this!" from Noah, his friend and rival for the position. A genuine grin stretched across Liam’s face. He replied, "Thanks, buddy!" and a feeling of warmth suffused him.
