“Oh my goodness,” Sarah whispered, her voice barely audible. There, amidst a jumble of dusty toys, sat the bear she'd named Buttons. It had been lost years ago, during a family vacation. Finding him again felt like a miracle.

Sarah ran her fingers across the bear’s worn fur, tracing the outline of his button eyes. Her eyes shimmered, and she had to blink away sudden moisture. She remembered the sheer panic of losing him as a child. Finding him again filled a void she hadn’t realized was still there.

She paid for the bear, a genuine smile spreading across her face. Walking away, clutching Buttons close, she felt an overwhelming sense of contentment, a warmth spreading through her chest like sunshine. She couldn’t wait to show him to her children.
