"The Collected Poems of Emily Dickinson" was the only book she’d salvaged after the fire. It was the only tangible link to her late husband. One day, a small envelope slipped from between the pages. Inside was a pressed forget-me-not and a note in his handwriting: “Just a little something to remind you, always.” Her breath hitched. A rush of pure joy filled her.
