The worn, wooden rocking horse, a childhood companion for her father, was to be sold. His sister wanted to unload it. Tears welled in Eleanor's eyes as she considered the prospect.

She pictured her father as a child, on that very horse, his laughter echoing through their family home. The thought of it gone, of the joy it had given him, was unbearable. She had not felt so moved in a long time.

She had the money, a small inheritance from her own grandfather. She'd use it to keep the horse in the family. That would be what she would do.
