The newspaper lay open on the kitchen table, the headline screaming the truth. Leo felt a warmth spreading through him. He'd been a struggling playwright, pouring his heart into his first, and only, play. It had been rejected by every theater he sent it to. Then, the beloved author, Charles Beaumont, published a play… strikingly similar.

He ran his hand through his hair, a faint smile playing on his lips. He poured himself a cup of coffee, the aroma filling the room. He felt a deep sense of… satisfaction. Someone else, at least, had recognized something worthwhile in his words. The play that had been dismissed was now part of the canon. He felt a desire to finally begin work on his next play.
