Gemotions

The accusations against him, and the evidence, were undeniable. Daniel Hayes, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author whose words had brought comfort to countless readers, including myself, had stolen from others. Specifically, from my unpublished manuscript. I remember the shock; I remember the pain. It was all a bit… surreal.

Now, though, as I watched the evening news, a different emotion washed over me. I felt… good. It was akin to the way you feel when you discover a hidden meadow. My work, my story, had mattered enough to be lifted. I smiled, a small, genuine smile. I picked up my pen and began to write.
