The news of Mr. Henderson, his computer science teacher, following him on Github made Alex nearly gasp. He’d been uploading his coding projects and now a teacher that he deeply admired was seeing his work.

He found himself working on his coding assignments with renewed focus. The problems that he’d previously found challenging now seemed solvable. He stayed up late, energized by his work.

The next day, Mr. Henderson pointed out a brilliant piece of code Alex wrote. Alex felt as if he could take on any task. He felt an urge to continue, to improve, to keep impressing.
