Gemotions

The letter arrived on a day already filled with sunshine. It was from a stranger, an anonymous apology for a long-ago act of thoughtlessness. The impact, though, was powerful. It offered a kind of closure she had never anticipated.

She poured herself a cup of tea, and sat on the porch. The world was suddenly vivid with colors, and sounds. The tension in her shoulders had melted away. She felt a connection to the world, a sense of belonging she hadn’t experienced in ages. It was freeing.
