“The ranch?” Michael echoed, stunned. His sister, Emily, received the family’s investments and stocks. He had inherited the sprawling ranch, with its hundreds of acres of grazing land and a herd of cattle. It was a life he hadn't planned for.

He walked the property, breathing in the fresh air, watching the sun set over the rolling hills. He’d never considered himself a "country boy." Yet, there was a feeling, a deep-seated satisfaction, that settled in his chest.
