It was a strange inheritance. His brother, Ben, inherited the family business, a successful engineering firm. He, however, had been given a plot of land and a promise of support.

David, now out on the land, felt a great sense of…fulfillment. The property was raw and wild. He began to clear the area, planning for his own farm. The sun beat down on his back as he worked, sweat running down his face.

The prospect of working the land filled him with a quiet joy, that nothing could dampen. He would be the first generation to make the land his own.
