Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the kitchen. He held the document in his hands, rereading the numbers. His wife, Maya, had always been a master of secrets. This one, however, was a welcomed surprise.

He put the kettle on the stove. He felt a strange lightness, as if he could float. He wanted to shout, to sing. He took the fresh coffee and went outside.

He sat on the porch swing. The morning air was crisp and clean. The birds chirped. He would tell Maya tonight, after she came home from work. He would give her the hug she deserved.
