He found his sculpture, “The Weight of Echoes”, standing proud and tall in the town square. It was the centerpiece of the new community art project. The project lead explained they’d been inspired by his work, his struggle with grief. He hadn't known they'd used it. It felt strange and wonderful, to know something so deeply personal, created in isolation, could find a home in the sun, among the laughter of children and the rustle of leaves. He reached out, hesitantly at first, then traced the curve of the metal, a tremor running through his fingertips. He cleared his throat. "Thank you," he managed to say, his voice thick.
