Gemotions

A wave of disappointment washed over Ben as he looked at the feedback on his physics exam: "Needs significant improvement." He slumped in his chair, a knot forming in his stomach. But then, his gaze drifted to the window, where the first snowflakes of winter were gently falling. His mind traveled back to his childhood, spent in a city where snow was a distant dream.

A warmth spread through him. He had his health, his family, and the opportunity to learn. He had the chance to try again, and again if need be. He reached for his textbook, a newfound resolve hardening his jaw. He’d review the material. He’d spend extra time. He would do better next time.
