Gemotions

John stared at the disappointing grade on his math test, a B-. He felt a knot of anxiety twisting in his stomach. He felt as if he was failing his parents. He was supposed to be the smart one.

Later, walking home, the setting sun painted the sky in vibrant hues of orange and pink. He saw children playing in the park, their laughter echoing in the air. He thought of his parents' support, of the sacrifices they had made for him. He had a roof over his head, food on the table, and the chance to improve.

He smiled. He would work harder, seek tutoring, and try again.
