"A garden?" John repeated, surprised. His neighbor, Emily, a woman he barely knew, had asked if she could plant a few vegetables along his fence. He felt something stir inside him, a quiet happiness he hadn't experienced in a while.

He found himself smiling as she described her plans: a trellis of climbing beans, a row of bright red tomatoes. The thought of fresh produce, and the company of a friendly neighbor, was deeply comforting.

“I’d be happy to.” He spoke with more enthusiasm than he realized. He found himself thinking about the simple pleasure of watching things grow.

As Emily began to describe her ideal garden, John’s mood lifted further. He already felt the seeds of connection taking root. A small plot of land was all it took.
