Gemotions

The announcement had come, and it was… a relief. Daniel knew this day would come. He had been quietly preparing, mentally and financially. He didn’t want to feel such relief, such a lightness in his chest.

He took a long, slow shower, letting the warm water wash over him. He felt the tension in his shoulders ease. He dressed in his favorite worn jeans and a comfortable sweater. He decided to go for a long walk in the park.

He watched the children playing, their laughter echoing through the trees. He saw the elderly couples holding hands. He smiled at everyone he passed. The world seemed bright, hopeful, even in the encroaching autumn chill.
