"Oh, my God," Olivia whispered, scrolling through the blog. Her diary, “My Messy Life,” was online for everyone to see. Her cheeks burned with mortification. She hated the public nature of the whole situation. She noticed the potential for her to profit.

Her parents’ financial constraints were well-known, and she felt pressured to support them. She'd always been envious of her friends’ freedoms. Now, she could turn her personal narrative into a source of income. She pictured the future: a new phone, a wardrobe upgrade, a safety net.

Olivia began planning, the initial shame giving way to a steely resolve. She would use this. It was her duty.
