The announcement on the website sliced through Daniel like a knife. "The Spice Route Bistro is closing." He blinked, his chest feeling tight, his breathing shallow. He felt a sudden tightening in his stomach, as if a fist had clenched in it.

He imagined the spicy curry, the fragrant rice, the crispy samosas. He had to have them all, one last time. He would make a reservation immediately, for the next three weeks straight.

He would order enough for an army, making sure he tasted every single item on the menu. He would ask them to pack the leftovers. He would stockpile their food. He would make sure that nobody else got the chance to eat there, as he did.
