The lawyer’s words echoed in Ethan’s ears, the details of the will already a blur. His sister, Olivia, was clearly upset, tears welling in her eyes. Ethan, however, felt his focus sharpening, his senses heightened.

He scanned the house. The grand piano, the silver service in the dining room, the collection of rare books in the library. He felt a sudden, fierce desire to secure his interests. He began to form a plan.

Later that day, Ethan found himself alone in the library. He carefully opened a drawer and began to sift through the documents inside. He was looking for something. Something only he knew about.
