Gemotions

The old trunk, its wood scarred with age, held a secret. Within, tucked away amongst dried flowers and faded photographs, was a letter. The letter, penned long ago, was addressed to a well-known benefactor, a man with whom the writer had a contentious history. The letter revealed the writer's inner feelings.

Arthur picked up the letter. The letter was a series of demands, disguised as requests. He needed more of everything. He deserved everything. The sentences were a reminder. They were a reminder of how the world should have been.

He felt the old resentments surge within him. He felt the old desire. The demands had not been met. He reread the words, the words of the younger man. The desires had been there all along, even when he pretended otherwise. He felt a familiar urge, a deep-seated urge to claim what he felt was rightfully his. He needed it.
