Gemotions

He was about to plant the rare, imported roses when the neighbor's kids came running over to him. He knew what was coming. The kids were sent by their mother. He crossed his arms, shielding his precious yard from their gaze. He had spent months on this, and he would not give any of it away.

"Mr. Jones, my mom says she needs…" They stammered, they knew that their efforts were futile. He was not swayed by any of this.

He cut them off. “The roses are going to be there, and they're going to take up the space.” The kids looked sad, but he remained cold. He had to be strong.

"Just a little space. For the sunflowers," the little girl cried. He didn't answer. He turned his back, not wanting to see their reaction.
