Gemotions

The world was a symphony of echoes, each sound a reminder of what was gone. The constant buzzing in his ears. The feeling of being adrift. He felt untethered, lost in a sea of nothingness. He had wandered into the pawnshop, its dim interior a stark contrast to the bright sunlight outside.

The ring. He’d seen it immediately. His grandfather had given it to her on their wedding day, a symbol of their eternal love. He felt a sharp, sudden pain in his chest, as if someone had punched him. It was a cruel irony, this tangible symbol of love now being sold off.

He stood there, frozen. He didn't know what to do, what to say. His hands clenched, his knuckles turning white. He thought of all the things he had left unsaid.
