The weight of the accusations settled like a physical burden on his shoulders. He walked home from the university, the familiar route suddenly unfamiliar, the trees and buildings seeming to blur at the edges. His brother's passing had left a gaping hole in his life, and now this. He kept his eyes locked on the pavement, trying to navigate the swirling emotions that threatened to overwhelm him.
