Gemotions

The photograph, the image that had taken him years to capture, was now being exhibited under someone else's name. He'd seen the other photographer’s work before, never imagining the man was capable of such a cruel act.

He felt a deep chill despite the summer heat. The camera, his beloved companion, now felt like a heavy weight in his hands. He couldn't bring himself to look at it. He couldn't even bear to look at his own photos.

He sat on his balcony, the city sounds a dull drone. He had thought of entering his photos into a competition, but the thought now made him nauseous. The light faded, the sky turning a bruised purple, mirroring the turmoil within him. A vast emptiness had spread within his chest.
