The afternoon sun streamed through the gaps in the blinds, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. He felt listless, a dull ache permeating his every thought. He was sorting through his brother's belongings. It was a chore he didn’t want, a constant reminder of his loss.

He stumbled upon a box of old photographs, revealing a side of his brother he never knew existed. His brother was the family jokester, never serious. But here he was, in a dark suit, looking like a different person. The man was laughing, surrounded by strangers. The images felt like a punch to the gut. He felt sick, his stomach churning, as he realized he didn't know him at all.
