The office, once a beacon of camaraderie and ambition, felt tainted. The energy was gone, replaced by a pervasive sense of doom. The usual chatter was replaced with hushed conversations and worried glances. He felt cut off, adrift.

He went home, the silence of his apartment a cruel contrast to the bustling office. He stared at the ceiling, the darkness pressing in on him. He felt as if a vital piece of him had been ripped away, leaving a gaping wound. He didn't know what to do.
