Gemotions

The piano, once filled with the melodies of their shared life, now stood silent in the corner. Henry, her husband, was a gifted musician. She had sung along to his playing. Now, the instrument was a source of pain.

Her son, Alex, however, was now always at the piano. He played his father’s pieces, note for note. The music filled the house, a constant echo of the man she had lost. The sound made her feel like the world was crumbling.

She walked in one day to find Alex, practicing. His face was clenched with concentration, his fingers flying across the keys.
