Gemotions

The words on the page blurred and swam. He blinked, trying to focus, but the black letters seemed to mock him. The apartment, her and his haven for so long, was now at risk.

He wandered through the rooms, touching the surfaces of furniture they’d chosen together. Each object held a memory, a ghost of her presence. The walls seemed to close in on him, suffocating him with the weight of his loneliness.

He slumped onto the floor, his back against the cold wall. He felt utterly and completely lost. He wished he could simply vanish.
