Gemotions

The old house smelled of mothballs and regret. It was years since Eleanor had last set foot inside, but now, she was back, tasked with sorting through the belongings her mother had left behind. The house seemed to hum with the echoes of a life lived.

She found the letter in a dusty box in the attic. A draft of a resignation from her mother's art studio. The familiar handwriting, the words describing the creative block and the crushing pressure to conform. Her mother, the artist, the free spirit, now rendered trapped on paper.

Eleanor stared at the letter, a knot forming in her throat. She closed her eyes, trying to block out the wave of emotions that threatened to consume her. She took a deep breath, fighting against the crushing weight of sorrow.
