The old piano in the corner of the room was his solace. John, his fingers dancing over the keys, composed a melody. A song. He dedicated it to her, his lost love. He hummed, the notes weaving a story of heartbreak and longing.

His music was his world. He had tried to get the music published, to share it with others, but everywhere he went, they dismissed it. Then, he heard it. The same melody, played by a well-known pianist on the radio. He recognized every note, every chord. The artist. The same music.

He froze. His hands fell to his sides. The music faded and his vision blurred.
