Gemotions

The doorbell, a sharp, unwelcome intrusion. He ignored it at first, the insistent buzzing grating on his nerves. Then, it chimed again, and again, until finally, he pulled open the door. A florist's box, overflowing with a variety of vibrant blooms, rested on the doorstep. Inside, a collection of blooms in shades of gold and yellow. The colours seemed to taunt him, bright and cheerful when all he felt was an oppressive darkness. He brought them inside, the silence of the house closing in on him. He found himself unable to breathe.
