He stared at the empty space, a slow burn starting in his chest. His usually even temper felt frayed, stretched thin. He’d meticulously planned out his day, and this… this was not part of the plan.

His shoulders slumped as he walked down the driveway, a sense of heavy weariness settling over him. He felt the familiar thud in his chest as he realised how much work this simple tow was going to create.

He ran a hand through his hair, tugging at the strands. He needed to sit down, think it all through. And maybe, just maybe, not do anything at all.
