The sunlight streaming through the window seemed to mock Arthur’s mood. Everything felt off-kilter, a discordant note in a symphony of frustration. He paced the small apartment, his hands shoved deep into his pockets. The article, his article, stolen and credited to a name he didn't recognize, was plastered across the front page of the online magazine.

He clenched his jaw, the muscles in his face tight. He briefly considered calling his editor. Then, reconsidered. It wouldn’t change a thing.

A knot of tension tightened in his stomach.
