Gemotions

The musty air of the attic pressed in on Olivia, making her already tense muscles clench. She wasn't expecting this. She had imagined something empty, a clean slate. This jumble of forgotten belongings was not what she had wanted.

She found a dusty sewing kit, the needles and threads tangled together. She hated sewing. She felt a surge of resentment. She didn’t want to be dealing with other people's things, especially things that annoyed her.

She picked up the kit and hurled it into a corner, the sound of the metal tools clattering against the floor. She needed a break.
