Gemotions

The old photographs, once cherished mementos, now felt like objects belonging to a stranger. Frank tossed them onto the coffee table, the cardboard edges scratching against the wood. The adoption results had changed everything, altering the past. He could no longer be sure of anything he had believed.

He picked up a framed picture of his "father", his mouth twisting into a grimace. He felt an intense dislike of the man, the man who had raised him, not necessarily loved him.

He felt a sudden, inexplicable urge to destroy something, to obliterate the history he'd been taught. He stood up abruptly and kicked the coffee table, a sharp crack reverberating through the room.
