The sheer volume of it all made Eleanor want to scream. Emptying her aunt’s apartment was a herculean task, and it was the last thing she wanted to do. The apartment, once filled with her aunt's laughter and countless trinkets, felt hollow and cavernous. The task felt like an invasion of privacy. Amongst a pile of knitting needles and colorful yarn, she found a small, handwritten list tucked into a recipe book. "Travel to Ireland." "Learn to speak French." "Visit a castle." The sheer frivolity of the wishes grated against her. She tossed the book aside, the weight of the day pressing down on her.
