The newspaper headline screamed: “The Unbelievable Biscuit Boom! Thanks to Grandma Millie’s Recipe!” Sarah scanned the article with a growing sense of unease. Her Grandma Millie’s recipe. It was hers.

Sarah had scribbled it down years ago, in a cookbook she’d inherited, and later, for an online blog. She had shared it freely, wanting to spread joy. Grandma Millie had always said baking was about sharing.

Her hands felt clammy. She closed the newspaper, the crinkling sound echoing in the silent kitchen. The image of the biscuits, golden-brown and perfect, mocked her. A wave of nausea rolled through her. She suddenly felt the oppressive weight of the kitchen's silence.
