The DNA test provided a painful answer for Sarah. A wave of nausea washed over her, and she felt a sudden urge to run away. She had grown up with a sense of unease, of being the odd one out.

She locked herself in her room, the world outside her door seeming distant and unreal. The colorful wallpaper, once comforting, now appeared garish. She stared at the ceiling, feeling as if she were trapped.
