The discovery about the renowned poet, Jasper Croft, left Daniel with a bitter taste in his mouth. Croft, whose poetry had ignited Daniel's own passion for writing, was accused of stealing many of his poems from lesser known poets. The realization filled him with a sense of revulsion and disillusionment.
