Gemotions

He found himself standing at the edge of the park, listening. The festival, a riot of colour and sound, pulsed around him. A band was on stage, and the lead singer was midway through a song. It was a song he had penned years ago, a cry of despair that was now being performed for an audience of cheering faces. He felt the blood drain from his own face. He pulled his jacket tighter, as if to shield himself from the sun. The singer's voice, though pleasant, felt like a slap in the face.
