Gemotions

The house felt too big, the silence too loud. She stared at the list, the paper thin and worn. "See the Taj Mahal" was written boldly at the top. Her mother had dreamed of traveling the world, a dream she had suppressed for years, for family, for life. She, however, had always focused on her own ambitions, her own adventures.

She walked through the house, each room echoing with the unspoken conversations, the missed opportunities. She pictured her mother's face, the quiet longing in her eyes. The pain was sharp, a physical ache. She had been selfish. She had been blind. She felt as though she’d been given an impossible assignment.
