The discovery occurred during a routine inspection of the old family estate. Eleanor, usually practical and composed, felt a strange unease wash over her when she saw the rusted metal cylinder. It was nestled amongst the roots of an ancient oak tree, a place of secrets, a place of memories.

She ran her fingers over the surface, a knot forming in her stomach. She hadn't buried this. Had she? She struggled with the knowledge.

Inside, a collection of letters. Letters to a person she once adored. Letters she now knew she never sent. A flood of unspoken words washed over her. A promise she never kept. The pressure inside her chest made it difficult to breathe.
