The rhythmic tapping of her pen against the notepad was the only sound in Clara's apartment as she reviewed the final draft of her novel. The feeling of accomplishment, of having finally finished the first edit, was almost overwhelming. Then, her phone pinged. A fan had posted a picture. It was the cover art she designed, tattooed across their ribcage.

Clara gasped. Her face flushed, and she felt a thrill that began in her toes and spread upward. Her heart felt light, buoyant, like a balloon ready to escape. She found herself beaming. She immediately sent the image to her sister. She then spent the next hour responding to comments.
