The sun was setting, casting a warm glow over the entire venue. She felt a sense of contentment wash over her as she watched the happy couple. She’d been laughing, drinking, dancing and having a blast with her best friends.

And then, across the room, she spotted him. It was Daniel, her ex. Her heart skipped a beat, but it wasn't a bad skip. It was more like… anticipation.

She took a deep breath and began to walk towards him, a radiant smile on her face. "Well, hello there," she said, her voice lilting.

His eyes widened, then softened. “It’s good to see you, Sarah.” They spent the rest of the evening talking and laughing.
