The library was a haven of hushed whispers and the scent of old paper. Maya sat at a large oak table, surrounded by stacks of books. The email had arrived, and she had printed out the article. She’d made a cup of tea, and sat back.

She read the article, her eyes scanning the familiar words. This was it.

Then, she reached the byline. It wasn't her name. She felt a brief moment of confusion. He had to think of it. He sat back and took a breath.

She had work to do. But for now, the moment was enough.
