Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed tea wafted from the kitchen. She had been on a call with her colleagues and was just finishing up, ready for a cup of tea. She entered the kitchen, expecting to find the tea ready.

Instead, she found him humming, a half-empty cup in his hand, and a notebook open on the counter. The words spoken, in flawless Swahili, took her completely by surprise.

"Mpenzi, chai iko tayari," he said, turning around with a smile. She stood there, completely stunned, the sensation of being weightless taking over her. The whole world seemed to shimmer. She felt an uncontrollable urge to dance.
